Originally founded in 2002, the original Chantler Law Offices, which focused on the representation of small businesses and individuals, was run by Renee Glover Chantler.  In May 2006 Renee ended her practice for billing clients after she was given the opportunity to serve the public as Pro Bono Counsel for DLA Piper US LLP's west coast offices.

The rebirth of Chantler Law Offices is the culmination of a journey through real life.  Prior to attending law school Derek worked as a retail salesperson, records management officer, a clerk in a state reference library, as a retail store manager, as an indirect account executive and as a bartender.  This diverse experience has uniquely positioned Derek to give you legal representation that is relevant to your real life needs. 

Derek was admitted to practice law in California and the current iteration of Chantler Law Offices was born.  During his time at Law School Derek assisted clients through the Alameda County Office of the Public Defender and also through Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto.

In addition to the California State Courts Derek is admitted to practice in the United States Federal Court, Northern District of California.

As of August 2016 Renee and Derek are practicing together, making Chantler Law Offices better than ever before, in our humble opinions.
